say magnifique.

Found in the depths of my mothers treasure chest, this beauty has taken up most of my summer holiday time. Translating and loving it, my favourite scene is no doubt Scene V.

The jest of the scene: "Gringoire, pointing to his own pale, thin face, told the King how he had twice spoken words of love, and how he had been answered, once by a burst of laughter, and secondly by tears of pity."
I can relate.

my eyeballs sting.

goot, josh goot.

Would you rather explore the whole galaxy and learn the secrets of the universe alone or stay home with loved ones and friends?
Right now, fuel up the rocket ship.
But one would need some suitable intergalactic attire, no?

Voodoo Girl.

Her skin is white cloth,
and she's all sewn apart
and she has many colored pins
sticking out of her heart.
She has many different zombies
who are deeply in her trance.
She even has a zombie
who was originally from France.

But she knows she has a curse on her,
a curse she cannot win.
For if someone gets
too close to her,

the pins stick farther in.

Today I made a fond discovery of a book of poems called "the melancholy death of oyster boy & other stories" written and illustrated by Tim Burton. Wonderfully simple, yet so clever. Go to your local Borders and buy the book or check them out on his site.
it's too far gone and now nobody gets it. maybe i'm insane, and have been all along.
mmm.
whaaatever.

Garden Of Eden

I was meant to post this ages ago, then I went M.I.A..
One of my favourite artists Del Katheryn Barton had done a collaboration with fashion label Romance was Born. Barton's paintings being the direct source of inspiration for the distinctive colour splash and absolute detail in the fabric designs, excite the eye and blow the mind.

Enjoy kiddos.

Text(6:31pm):"I’m going to talk about comedy here, but it won’t be funny. Or maybe it will be. Or maybe you can blow it out your ass and see if I give a shit, because it’s my article and you’re basically trespassing. Did you think of that? Did you think you were going to just waltz in here and be served tea and biscuits by some well-dressed article from Vienna or San Francisco, whose sole existence was centered around massaging your TV-deadened brain and telling you that you look nice in that shirt, which you very much do not? Did you? Is that what you thought? Oh great, are you crying? Are you fucking crying, you little… you little… Nancy doodle? I just had to make up a very gentle insult for you right there because I know you’d go pee-pee in your silly little trousers if I told you what I really thought."

Chelsea frill bandeau bikini

Stunning prints and amazing cuts, the girls at Zimmermann know what we want for summer.
I'm staying away from the classic "triangle" bikini and I'm looking for more structure.

unfinished thoughts

Title: Unfinished thoughts, DRAFT.
Medium: 2B on paper

- Fridge is thirsty for more milk
- Hairdressers need feeding
- Time to call Jim

I drew that girl during my study break, she lacks colour, seems faded and is missing the rest of her body but I like how she looks so vulnerable on paper.

But which is which?

One cup of chamomile tea, Coeur de pirate playing on itunes and my sketchbook on my lap. I've recently come to appreciate the little things in life like my eraser and my 2B and 4B pencils, not to mention my darling watercolours that seem to whisper the colours onto the page.

I'm yet to fulfill my promise to a dear friend of mine as I was suppose to produce a face like the one above for her. I don't usually like sharing my mini creations (selfish I know) but who am I to stand in the way of brightening someones day? I'm on it!
what if..
- We lived under the sea
- We ate sand like chocolate
- We had eyes on each one of our fingers
- When we sneezed gold glitter came out
- There was no such thing as makeup
- The colours I see are different from the colours you see
- We didn't live for money
- We were fruit
- We are living in a shoebox, located on a giants window sill overlooking the beach
- We are the aliens
- There was no such thing as sound
- We are living in a shoebox as a giants science experiment and the stars are  glow in the dark stickers on the wall
- Our tongues were flavoured
- We didn't age, but morphed into animals
- What I'm saying didn't sound crazy.

The technique of asking What-ifs provokes an individual to think and to produce something new. At times, in order to find original solutions to old problems, one must take the leap of faith and ask ‘crazy’ and imaginative questions to get us out of the rut of stale, conformist routine.

The search continues

I'm sitting in my bed with Yoko my ukulele and I think I want to conflate into the sheets.

beautifully chaotic.

"Only those things are beautiful which are inspired by madness and written by reason."

After conversing with a dear friend of mine, we discovered the true beauty and wonder of the words all around us. This discovery lead us to develop a list of all new exciting words, agreeing then and there that we would be on the look out 24/7 for them. The collection has begun, let us feast!

Splash: spontaneous action
tang: tart spicy quality
irksome: lacking in interest as to cause mental weariness, boredom
Rupture: A burst, split, or break due to pressure
retrograde: move in a direction contrary to the usual one
postmodern: A way of living
twelve: a number, and sum of one and eleven
galvanize: to stimulate to action, exciting
lucidity: free from obscurity and easy to understand

More to come soon.

fond found

Found:  Journal Of A Mint, 2010
Date: Forth Of July
Content: Jumbled lyrics from songs

While I was cleaning out my old art file from the beginning of the year I found this treasure and I had to share it. All the lines are either inspired or lyrics from songs and looking back some are pretty obvious and some arent. I'm going to do another one soon, since I remember doing this with my friend Leigh at a local park in Yokine. And yes that is a thumb print in the bottom right hand corner.
