This is the title for the latest new project my incredibly talented friend Thinh and I have challenged ourselves with. Stylist and co-dreamer of this photoshoot with one of my favourite blogs on the net.

certain types of beetles secrete a resin which used to be mistaken for their wings. the flakes are crushed, then mixed with alcohol and can be used with a paintbrush to add a gloss or varnish-type solution to art works. the secretion is known as “shellac” which is identified as a natural plastic, which is ironic, given the connotations of the word “plastic”, is linked with art.
